Option to adjust decimals for numeric columns

Need to have the option to adjust decimals for numeric columns. Right now it is only set for 2 decimals. We should have the option to change that and still keep the column as numeric, like in Excel. Right now you need to set a custom format for that column if you want decimals places < or > than 2. When a custom format is in place, the column is no longer numeric, therefore, any number higher than 999 will not have the commas.
