Route Veslink Error messages back to the vessels for correction

14 votes

In the current Veslink (v2.0) system, when Veslink forms fail to get imported into Veslink.com, the error messages are routed to a fixed email address. This fixed email address typically belongs to a system administrator. Since these failed forms do not show up in the Veslink dashboard or in IMOS, operators have no chance to approve or reject them.

The system administrator needs to get in touch with the vessels to correct the data. Since the error message clearly states the reason of the failure, the admin is just manually routing the same failure message back to the vessel. Time spent doing this does not add any value to the business. Additionally, there could be a delay in vessels getting this information.

Suggestion: Any Veslink form which fails to get imported into Veslink.com, should be routed back to the vessels, as well as to other recipients with the failure reason. Vessels copy the operators in Veslink form submissions, then operators can also be aware.
