Dual fuel vessels / decide which fuel type to be used on voyage basis
Hi,
it would be handy to be able to decide which fuel type to be burned on different voyages. Especially with dual fuel vessels, say options are LNG or LSFO. And behind vessel's date you could define the consumption rates on different "fuel modes" and afterwards some tick box or so on voyage how to decide the main fuel type for that specific voyage

Dmitry Fomichev. SCFFor dual fuel vessel shell be several S&C tables depending on engine working mode. Now we have 'type' for each line but it shell be related to S&C table in whole.

PateraThis feature is urgently needed as fuel price volatility is rising. Commercially this would make huge difference in decision making. Operationally, it is required in cases of LNG system breakdown or other reasons that requires vsl to consume specific fuel type.

Zenit will be better to have options to indicate the unit of measurement.

Bhavik ShahWe at Anglo have started operating LNG powered bulk carriers. These new LNG powered vessels have two engine modes Gas Mode and LSMGO mode. These two modes have different consumption rates while VIP only supports one set of consumption rates. With current VIP offering we cannot capture the operation of such vessels which can switch from Gas mode to low sulphur fuel mode (LSMGO / VLSFO) in middle of the voyage. This feature is urgently needed as such LNG powered vessels are now in demand and we understand few other Veson clients have similar vessels and the need to operate these vessels switching engine modes.

Daniel HosemannWith the arrival of dual fuel vessels, I need to run calculations comparing both fuel options when offering on business. Without the functionality to compare fuel grades, IMOS will no longer be a useful tool because it lacks the ability to accurately calculate bunker expenses on a voyage.

DPWithout the ability to switch between several primary fuel grades during a voyage (between legs or voyages days), a chartering PIC will not have the capacity to calculate a voyage estimate accurately. This can result in lost cargo opportunities, incorrect p&l assumptions, inefficient bunker planning, and future issues related to ghg tax structures.

BharatThis feature is the need of the hour and should be implemented ASAP. Fuel can be changed anytime during a voyage for various reasons, the voyage estimation and reporting software should be able to capture all permutations possible in a voyage.

Eren AltuntoprakThis feature is needed as soon as possible as the consumption rate difference has an impact on dual fuel vessels' P&L

Eren AltuntoprakFor duel fuel vessels, what we want is that when the vessel runs out of its primary fuel, we want the vessel to consume its secondary fuel at the consumption rate of secondary fuel not the primary fuel, currently the issue we are facing is that when the vessel runs out of LNG, it switches to LGO, however it consumes LGO at the consumption rate of LNG which is wrong, vessel should consume LGO at the consumption rate of LGO not LNG when it runs out of LNG. So that is why we need a feature that gives the vessel an option to consume the secondary fuel at the consumption rate of secondary fuel.
