VIP operations module - show live position in each voyage map
Currently, Veslink forms plot the vessels past-route and current position, which is only available to view on the FleetMap.
In operations, for each voyage there is also a map screen with the estimated route and ports for the entire voyage. For some reason this map does not show the actual vessel positions or link to Veslink reports from the voyage itself. Therefore the operator must switch between the voyage and the FleetMap to check the current position compared to the planned route.
This data is available in VIP so it is illogical to separate it over multiple locations.
This would also be extremely useful when reviewing previous voyages.

Niels LorenzenI think this is already in the pipeline.
It was one of the arguments for VIP i.e. merging IMOS and Veslink to make this possible -

RyanWould this be possible through Web-hooks and an AIS provider?

NIELS LORENZEN@Ryan - that would be great too. you could see the noon report you just approved and a "live" dot on top of it.
I think the topic was more aimed at the map view in Voyage Manager which currently still only shows a theoretical track of a commenced voyage rather than the actual positions reported day by day.
All that with an overlay of the wind direction and prevailing weather conditions a that moment would be the icing on the cake. -

Ryan@Niels ... a simple web hook should provide a weather overlay on the map as well? That's why Veson has been selling the web-hooks so hard I thought.

NIELS LORENZEN@Ryan Agreed, I am sure your friendly weather routing company would return weather conditions for a location at a specific time when queried with a webhook.
