IMO No. only to be used on a single Vessel with Status: Active at a time

We suggest to have a Configuration Flag which ensures that an IMO No. can only be used on a single Vessel with Status: Active at a time. IMO No. is unique; therefore system should at least give a warning if user enters an IMO No. already used on another Active vessel

We have observed that VIP allows new Vessels to be created with an existing IMO Number. This results in multiple Active Vessels having the same IMO Number.
We’re expecting the system to throw up a warning message/error message when the user attempts to use an existing IMO Number.
We tried to use Tasks/Alerts to configure a warning message for such a scenario. But that is not giving us expected result.

We request the Veson team to take this up as a new feature enhancement

This a great suggestion but, I think it should be a combination of the vessel name and IMO no.

Also, it is important to have apart from warning a restriction (optional) not to allow the same vessel with same IMO number to be added twice.
