Counter for AP-AR accounts

It would be useful to have some kind of counter so that when creating new address book entries VIP will propose the next available value automatically.
In some cases we need ops team to quickly create a new 3rd party, but they no clue on this accounting-related field, so most of the time they leave it blank, generating problems later when posting invoices.
