Modifying an address book entry and how it affects historical invoices

It would be great to keep the historical invoices as they were when they are issued even if the address book entry gets modified after the fact. It seems that once you change the address entry when you go back and view historical invoices.

Or maybe there is a way to make (example company) invoices update their address effective 7/1/23 - only invoices posted 7/1 and beyond reflect new address? or something along these lines?

For example, if an invoice is invoiced on March 1, 2023 and then we change part of the address for the customer on May 1, 2023, shouldn’t the invoice from March 1 still show the information from when it is created if accessed after May 1? It seems that once you change the address entry when you go back and view historical invoices it changes to the latest. I don’t believe this should be the case since any invoice that has been posted is at that point a legal record - nothing on the pdf should ever change due to any system address book updates.
