Delete specific consumptions for a vessel

Using the vessel XML, we are able to post updates with insertions into given vessel's consumptions. Unfortunately using the API we are unable to remove consumptions on particular speeds no longer relevant.
Would it be possible to extend existing functionality to include the ability to delete specific consumptions for a vessel?
