Scrubber fees on TC

The idea is to have an option to pay a separate additional amount for scrubber-fitted vessels, usually an extra x USD per day from the date the scrubber is operational. This additional rate is on top of already agreed hire, but not when the scrubber is off hire.

This scrubber rate might be applicable to TC-in and TC-out contracts, stand alone or intercompany. The fee should be invoiced together with usual hire payments/invoices, but as a separate line item.

Scrubber rates will be applicable to off-hire and profit shares against theoretical savings of using high sulphur fuel instead of compliant low sulphur fuel.

Possibly, the solution for this might be designed, so that it could be applied to other, similar concepts? For example, ice-capable vessels or other specially equipped vessels, bio fuelled etc.? This could increase the value of the feature beyond the immediate IMO 2020 related context.

We need to add a Scrubber Premium to the Time Charter In and Out contract. Below is calculation formula.

The Charterers to reimburse the Owners X% in the firm period of the difference in price between of HSFO and LSFO multiplied by the volume of bunkers stemmed with the next hire payment after the relevant bunker stem.

Ops request that we insert a specific row in the TCIN fixture regarding the scrubber share with the various options that will match the TC contracts for scrubber fees paid, i.e. daily, monthly, quarterly or lumpsum fees, etc…). Same for the 3.75 addcom. Is this possible to develop? Risk is hire over-payment by a user. The current solution is very limited to one option, “Repr. Exp / Allowances” “per 30 days” with Full Commission (1.25% plus 3.75% - this does not apply for all Scrubber Contributio

Hello,

Has this suggestion been considered further? It would greatly help adjust the Hire Rates for scrubber fitted vessels based on floating diffs.
